Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth for the Irish business unit through winning new business and growing accounts. The primary responsibility will be to identify, research and introduce new business opportunities and clients into Delta Group developing and converting the opportunities to maximise organic and new business growth. Targeting consumer, FMCG, and retail brands to service their external / internal marketing and visual communication needs, these opportunities will span our creative, display and technology service offerings. You will also build upon and expand existing client relationships. You will provide a level of service and innovation that ensures long term partnerships and potential for future development and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop opportunities for new business, using various tools including “Prospect Management Systems” and conducting outbound calls to prospective and existing clients.
- Maintain client, investor and other business stakeholder relationships.
- Become a subject matter expert on the company’s business products, processes and operations and remaining up-to-date on industry news.
- Develop the Delta Group product portfolio in consultation with the Sales and Marketing Director.
- Develop, maintain and update the Delta Group’s marketing collateral and documents, ensuring a consistent and persuasive message is achieved.
- Coach and develop client facing personnel to understand the Delta Group core and cross selling opportunities.
- Design and maintain personal sales and marketing strategies in line with yearly sales growth across the Group.
- Understand and actively pursue cross selling Delta services and products; ensuring that cross functional teams are prepared and mobilised prior to client pitches.
- Ensure follow-ups after the pitch and respond to feedback – where the pitch is unsuccessful, evaluate using the feedback to build into future pitches.
- Hand over transitioned accounts to an appropriate member of the Account Management team, making the introductions to each party, with the aim of ensuring transition from new business to managed account is seamless.
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure that contracted product specifications are executed within specified timeframes.
Skills, knowledge and experience
- 6 years experience in the creative, distribution and/or print industries
- 5 years sales and marketing experience
- Proven track record of sales delivery
- Proven track record of building and delivering marketing strategies;
- A developed network of contacts
- Polished, professional approach
- A business qualification is desirable, but not essential
- Selling to, or working within Blue Chip companies is desirable, but not essential
