My client, a leading packaging supplier based in Sandyford, Dublin 18 are seeking to hire an experienced Flexographic Printer to join their production team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Reporting line: The flexographic printer reports to the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Production Controller, Quality Manager.
2. Duties Reasons for position: · Press and tooling preparation. · Press approvals. · Press running. · Housekeeping. · Documents, records and data.
3. Responsibilities and results expected from this role
3.1. Scheduling: Following the production plan and conducting PMR preparation accordingly.
3.2. PMR: · Flexographic plates – Organising, filing, cleaning, mounting, removing and storage. · Print cylinders and anilox rollers – Correct maintenance, cleaning, handling and storage. · Inks – Preparation, mixing and storage. · Ultrasonic cleaner – Anilox rollers.
3.3. Press operation: · Press setup / make-ready. · Print approvals – Before proceeding with run. · Inks – Maintaining viscosities, adjusting and colour matching. · Running – Maintaining register, colour and quality of the print throughout each print run. · Problem solving. · Line clearance.
3.4. Working environment: · Housekeeping: Driving and maintaining the housekeeping program in the press room. Ensuring a clean, organised and safe working environment. · Adhering to safety protocols.
3.5. Communication: · Liaising with the production team regarding issues of scheduling, planning and other technical requirements pertaining to orders. · Liaising with the quality and/or production teams regarding issues of quality. · Liaising with the press support person and PMR person regarding requirements. · Reporting of any problems and/or issues to management.
3.6. Documentation: · Completing documentation, records and data inputs promptly and correctly. · Press pulls – Collecting, organising and filing of press pulls/samples for all orders.

4. Education and skills:
4.1. Knowledge and expertise: · Relative qualification in the discipline or similar. · Printing and press related experience. · Good understanding of company procedures and protocols. · Good understanding of technical sleeve requirements. · Understanding of sleeve finishing processes (Advantage).
4.2. Know-how: · Good technical and mechanical understanding. · Sense of responsibility. · Ability to multi task. · Ability to use initiative. · Good problem solving skills. · Managing, organizing and improving the work environment. · Good communication skills. · Team Player.
