Gluing Machine Operator

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the production of cartons producing finished product in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 & PS9000 2011 and the company’s best practice quality and safety procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Production

  • Machine Set Up;
  • Basic machine maintenance;
  • Ensure daily production targets are met;
  • To comply with current systems of working including established shift patterns;
  • To work as a team to achieve daily/ weekly production targets working as part of a crew on the gluing assembly lines reporting to the machine operator;
  • To achieve the highest possible quality standards working within the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems to achieve customer specification;
  • Quality check cartons whilst feeding these into the gluing machine;
  • Quality check glued cartons whilst coming off the gluing lines;
  • Perform setup of case sealer and ink jet printer;
  • Kit machine with correct elements as per job work ticket/ docket;
  • Assist machine operator with setup including the sustainment of 5S procedures;
  • Pack into correct corrugates per customer specification;
  • Comply with sampling process as per customer request;
  • Participate as part of a team to maximise machine efficiency to reach production targets;
  • Participate in continuous learning and development to update skills and participate in improvement initiatives in production;
  • To work flexibly across all the finishing departments including the rotation of positions and machines

 

Health & Safety

  • To Work in a safe manner adhering as per training and safety procedures of the site and department;
  • To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and potential risks and ensure you behave in a way which minimises risk to yourself and others;

 

Maintenance

  • To assist in the maintenance of all machinery and equipment in line with established planned maintenance programmes;
  • To keep work area clean, tidy ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene are always maintained.

  • Experience of working in a production environment desirable with demonstrable knowledge of good manufacturing practice
  • Ideally, experience of working to ISO 9001
  •  Good eye for detail and the ability to examine cartons to a high quality standards is essential
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Good Communication skills including a basic knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing

This is a full-time permanent position. The job hours are shift as follows:

7:00am – 3:00pm            Monday – Thursday

7:00am – 1:30pm            Friday

Rotating with

3:00pm – 11:00pm         Monday – Thursday

1:30pm – 8:00pm           Friday
